Fern Martins

A artistic career spanning over 50 years, known for exquisite pencil drawings, spectacular watercolours and varied techniques with acrylic paints and inks.Her first one woman exhibition at the age of 19 was with the Experimental Arts Foundation in Adelaide. Represented in the national Gallery of Australia, Art Gallery of NSW, State Library of NSW, Museum of Contemporary Art, Newcastle Art Gallery,Kluge-Ruhe Aboriginal Art Collection of the University of Virginia. Collections in Australian Schools, Universities, Aboriginal Communities and many private collections in Australia and Overseas.Commissions from clients across Australia, noteworthy mention 3 totem paintings for the late Jimmy Little AO. Fern left the commercial Art Gallery Scene in 1990’s to establish an independent studio.
